CJ Carpets

About Us

Cledwyn Jones Carpets Ltd was established in 1970 by Cledwyn & Gaynor Jones, in the picturesque village of Betws yn Rhos, just outside Abergele. Like many other businesses just starting out we had modest beginnings, with a garden shed for storage and a mini-van for transport! We worked hard, our business grew, and we are now very proud that many of those customers who supported us in those early years are still very much with us today. We continue to offer a full flooring supply and installation service, and our business is still based in Betws yn Rhos, only now we operate from a modern industrial unit and showroom, and we have larger vans!

We offer the services of two full time floor layers, Paul Jones, Cledwyn’s son who joined in 1986, and John Edwards who we are very pleased to say joined in 2011 bringing 18 years of experience with him. We also have the additional support of two highly experienced semi-retired floor layers.

We supply carpets of all grades, from the economy felt backed to the traditional Axminsters of Brintons and Ulster Carpets, and we take pride in fitting all of our carpets to the very highest standards, including body and border installations.

As well as carpet installation we also offer a range of safety & anti slip flooring, which is ideal for kitchens, dining rooms, bathrooms and full coved up the wall wet rooms, especially in commercial properties. Some customers prefer our ranges of feature flooring such as traditional Lino and Vinyl, and there are also the increasingly popular Karndean and Polyflor Expona luxury vinyl tile and plank ranges, which will make your project that bit more special.

We are very pleased to provide a repair service, where possible, to all of the above materials.

Customers often prefer to view carpet and flooring samples in their own homes; colours can change their tone and depth under differing light conditions, so with that in mind we offer the all-important “At-home pattern selection service” where you can see how the different samples will work with the rest of your home décor.

We also offer full sub-floor preparation as necessary, including floor board repairs and re-fixing, plywood underlayment, application of smoothing compounds and liquid Damp Proof Membrane where readings show it is required. We will move furniture, uplift old flooring, trim doors, and of course, we always tidy up on completion.

By 2020 we will have been in business for half a century and we are proud to continue to work to the very highest standards, providing top quality workmanship and a friendly, reliable bilingual service. Contact us to chat about your requirements. Our showroom here in Betws yn Rhos is also available to view, by appointment.

Our valued customers include public and private schools, a national building maintenance company, hospitality sectors, care homes, banks, churches, local builders and of course our domestic customers.
